Wrote this as a reply to a game activity question, figured I'd post it as a discussion item too. What do you guys think of this game?
It feels like a swords and sorcery themed tactical puzzle game. A bit like Magic the Gathering, in that you have various units that you are using as a shield to prevent damage from getting to "you".
The units are powered up, turned in to "attack" or "defense" mode based on how you combine them and lay them out.
I've cleared the first three zones, and so far the AI feels a little weak. In particular, it doesn't seem to know what to do with the 2x2 champion units. That said, the puzzle challenges are tricky, so between the two, the difficulty level might be just right.
I'm really quite enjoying it so far, but its really not an RPG. Think Bejeweled or Aurora Feint with some Essense of RPG sprinkled on top.
